Meet Arriell Gipson-Martin
Arriell Gipson-Martin is a Memphis native, public servant, civic strategist, and community builder running to represent Tennessee House District 91.
With nearly a decade of service in Shelby County Government, Arriell has built her career at the intersection of public service, community engagement, operations, and quality of life. Her work has focused on making government easier to understand, easier to access, and more responsive to the people it is meant to serve.
Arriell’s experience goes beyond showing up in the community. She understands how decisions are made, how resources move, how departments work together, and how policy choices affect everyday life. Her work has included leading large-scale community engagement efforts, managing contracts and public programs, working with elected officials and community partners, and using resident feedback and data to help shape strategies that respond to real needs.
Through her work with the Connector Program, Arriell helped connect thousands of residents across Shelby County to resources, services, and trusted information while building stronger relationships between government, neighborhoods, nonprofits, businesses, and faith communities. That work deepened her belief that good policy should never be disconnected from the people it is meant to serve.
As the daughter of a carpenter and a public servant, Arriell learned early that leadership requires both vision and follow-through. It means listening closely, solving problems honestly, and building systems that work better for working families, small businesses, seniors, students, and everyday neighbors.
Her campaign is rooted in People, Pathways, and Power. People deserve safe neighborhoods, strong schools, stable housing, reliable transportation, access to health and recovery resources, and real economic opportunity. Pathways matter because families need practical support that helps them move forward. Power belongs in the hands of the community, and Arriell is committed to making sure District 91 has a strong voice in the decisions made in Nashville.
Arriell is running to bring rooted, ready, and results-driven leadership to the Tennessee State Capitol. She is prepared to fight for policies that improve quality of life, expand opportunity, strengthen communities, and make sure progress can be felt on every block.
Her impact has been recognized on both the state and national levels. Rooted in service, driven by results, ready for Nashville.
